SPARKS NEVADA JUNE 2008
38th NATIONAL MEET
(Hosts are Larry Jett and Chuck Hill)
(by Chuck Hill)
Our first national meet was on the border of Reno and Sparks and in 2008 we are returning to Sparks for our 38th meet. The weather in early June @ 5000 ft, is crisp at night, but warm during the day. There will be still snow on the mountains. Our host Hotel is John Ascuaga's Nugget, (www.janugget.com) a family owned company. It is on the southern edge of Victoria Square, which is the entertainment center of Sparks, Nevada. The hotel itself is a complete resort with every amenity. Shuttles run all day to the Airport and to downtown Reno. Our show will be in the covered parking area with an enclosed walkway to the hotel. The banquet area is a beautiful glass room with panoramic view of the mountains to the south and west!

The hotel rate is the same before and after our meet and counts towards our meeting expenses, so come early and stay long. The Summit High Performance retail store and warehouse is about 2 miles east. 101 Octane pump gas is 5 blocks north. This is Car Country!
The festive and traditional ethnic meal in Northern Nevada and Central California, is the Basque family style dinners. The Basque people started arriving in 1875, performing sheep herding jobs. Slowly families and the culture spread and boarding houses could be found in every town. Non-Basque locals found what great food was being served and started eating with the borders, starting the Basque meal tradition. The J.T. Bar has been a bar and dining hall since the building was moved from Virginia City in 1895. The menu served family style is soup, salad, stew, beans, french fries, wine, chicken, steak, coffee, and ice cream.
ONE LAST REMINDER: Each attendee please bring a few auction items. If you are driving , you have NO excuse. If you are flying in, bring small items. We gladly accept NOS parts, antiques, heirlooms, gold jewelry, and any junk you keep tripping over!
SEE YOU ALL IN RENO OR "THE CURSE" OF LARRY JETT WILL FOREVER BE A BLACK CLOUD OVER YOUR MOPAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
